To apply for tickets, please follow these steps:

A soon as possible, write to the Festival Box Office to request an order form. The address is:

In September, you will receive your order form. The forms must be received by the box office by about 15 October; the precise date will be shown on the application form. Orders received late will not be considered by the box office.

Please remember that allocations do not necessarily follow what you request, except that the box office does not generally go up in price much from what you request. If you request less expensive seats, you severely restrict your chances of obtaining tickets. If you request the most expensive seats, you stand a better chance of obtaining something in the theatre.

Sign and date the order form and mail in. Do not mail payment with the order.

Allocation notices are mailed out beginning in December up to about the middle of February. By the end of February, everyone who did not receive an allocation is sent a short note to that effect.

Once your name is on the Bayreuth mailing list, you will continue to receive order forms as long as you continue to apply each year for tickets. The cut-off is after three years.

Don't get discouraged. The normal waiting time is 5-7 years between allocations, so just be patient, and remember to keep applying every year to keep your file active.
